Account data

If you sign in — with a Google account or a one-time email link — we store your email address, and if you use Google, the name and profile photo Google shares with us. This becomes your profile on the site and is what appears next to any comment you post.

Content you post

Comments you write on articles are stored with your account and the article they're attached to, and are visible to other visitors. Likes are stored against your account too. You can ask us to remove either at any time (see Contact below).

Analytics

We log page views to understand which articles and calculators get used, using a first-party cookie (bdfr_vid) that doesn't identify you personally — no name or email is attached to it. Each page view records the page path, the referring page, a rough device type, and a country derived from Cloudflare's edge network, not your precise location. We don't sell or share this data.

If you accept analytics cookies in the banner shown on your first visit, we also use Google Analytics to understand traffic at a broader level. Google Analytics only runs after you accept — declining, or not choosing, keeps it off. See "Who we share data with" below for what Google does with that data.

Cookies

Beyond the analytics cookie above, we set cookies to keep you signed in (issued by Supabase, our authentication provider). If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics sets its own cookies too. We don't use cookies for advertising, and no cookie on this site is set by a third-party ad network. You can change your analytics choice at any time by clearing your browser's site data for this domain, which brings the consent banner back.

Who we share data with

We use a small set of service providers to run the site, and we only share what each one needs to do its job:

• Supabase — hosts our database and handles sign-in.
• Cloudflare — hosts the site itself and handles page delivery.
• Google — handles sign-in if you choose "Continue with Google," and, only if you accept analytics cookies, receives page-view data through Google Analytics.
• Resend — delivers the email that contains your one-time sign-in link.

None of these providers are permitted to use your data for their own purposes, and we don't sell your data to anyone.

How long we keep it

Account and content data (profile, comments, likes) is kept for as long as your account exists. Analytics data is kept in aggregate and isn't tied to your identity.

Your choices

You can delete your account, edit your profile, or ask us to remove specific comments or likes at any time by emailing hillasmonsur@gmail.com. We'll act on these requests without unreasonable delay.

Children

This site is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
